Hello
We are Devon and Taylor Junkin. Two chefs with a dream of providing healthy and delicious food to our community in Orange County, California. We used our background of working and studying in some of the country's best restaurants to create Two Hangry Chefs Catering and Laurel Bakery. Our mission is to provide fabulous family dinners, custom cakes, and other treats with a communal sensibility. We hope you enjoy the fruits of our labors!
Our Story
This "Chef Duet" first met at Laurel restaurant in San Diego, CA. Taylor was an already established pastry chef after working at the renowned El Bizcocho. Devon, fresh out of culinary school in San Francisco, eventually wore her down with his advances and they never looked back. They would move on to the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, CA, Taylor creating pastries and desserts for the property and Devon working his way up the line at Splashes, the fine dining restaurant.
It was then they decided to make the leap to Chicago to work and stage in some of the most acclaimed restaurants in the city including Everest, Takashi, Alinea, and Duchamp among others. For five years they honed their crafts under some of the best chefs in the country, until moving back to San Diego to start a family.
They would join forces for the first time running the beloved Cafe Chloe downtown and opened a secondary creperie across the street. After having fulfilled thier goal there and with a couple children on the way, Taylor would create dessert programs for restaurants as a consultant while Devon managed Bo Beau in Ocean Beach as Executive Chef.
They have sinced moved to south Orange County to raise thier family and share thier knowledge and passion for good food with the community!
